Great ideas. I especially like…
Online Calendars and Schedules: Can these be linked to Outlook?
Team-wide Document Collaboration
File and Image Sharing
This certainly seems much faster than SharePoint.
I believe that the online calendars and schedules will have a problem with Outlook. The reason I am saying this is that it is my understanding that these applications would require an ‘authenticated user’ with the ‘approval’ to see the Outlook calendar or schedule.
To my knowledge this capability does not yet exist in the WordPress software product. I am assuming that there is some third party software that could be utilized to enable this type of integration.
If we just use the WordPress tools, calendars and schedules can be shared.
I have also noticed that this is much faster than MS Sharepoint. This must be due to the fact that the security and authentication is not in play.
Thank you so much for the reply.
I am in the process of setting up my blog for work. I am including passwords on the work related post. However, I am not sure if this is the best way to keep the post private. I will continue reviewing the website and perhaps I will discover a way to make the entire blog “private.”
As soon as possible, I will check out the WordPress tools.
I have another blog on Windows Live and I have read that I could connect Outlook. This is not something I have tried yet, but for personal use I thought it would be nice for my parents to be able to see my calendar.
I really like the idea of using a blog for work. It seems kind of silly, but I never thought of using it that way.
